Do you hear that sound? The sound of crickets chirping? Things around this blog have been pretty quiet…almost for a year in fact! Most people know that I took a year off to go to school and become a holistic nutritionist. I’m now working as a nutritional consultant but am also itching to get back into photography! The other day I had a session with one of my favorite families, the Ors. This family has been close to my heart and I was so excited to meet the little guy.

Can’t forget big sister, Soleil. So adorable and has grown so much since I last took photos of her!!

Some of you may recognize Carla as being a second shooter at weddings. She does an amazing job and also has her own company. One thing about being a photographer is you tend to not get many photos of yourself, so this winter she wanted some photos of her, Mark and their dog Odin in the snow. Here are some of my favorites from their session. Trying to get Odin to sit on the sled was not an easy feat! You can tell by his face he wasn’t too impressed.

SOOO pretty!

Carla knows how to work her stuff!

Thanks guys, it was so much fun! Sorry to make you lie in the snow for so long! =)

Marie and I go waaay back, all the way to Grade 1. I remember listening to Bush X with her in junior high and watching the Men in Black music video over and over until we had the dance moves memorized. Yes, we were dorks. But we had fun! I hadn’t seen her in a few years since we graduated, so it was so exciting to be able to shoot her and her sweet little family back in the fall!
Poor Hayley was so cold but she was a trooper and still smiled for most of the shots!

So cute!

On this Thanksgiving weekend, I have SO much to be thankful for. One of the things I am so very grateful for is the amazing clients that I meet and get to work with. I think of them as my friends as something changes when I am able to be a part of their wedding day. Kendra and Marco are two people that were so warm and fun, and I was honored to be a small part of their event. They got married on one of the hottest days we had in September and the weather and fall colors couldn’t have been more perfect. The ceremony took place at the Art Gallery of Calgary, which was such a wonderful venue. Here are my favorite images of the day…

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

These two had an intimate beautiful backyard wedding with just a couple people present. I was absolutely honored to be a part of it and be able to photograph it. I am so excited for them as they start their lives together!

After a short ceremony, we headed on over to a park to take a few shots.

I love this photo, her red shoes work so well with the berries!
